Brushing your teeth is something we should see as a necessity rather than a habit. Then it will already become a habit. Unfortunately, as a country, it is not something we can do very well. Currently, only 26 out of 100 people in Turkey brush their teeth regularly. When we ask if you brush occasionally, the yes answer rate rises to 40 percent. So what are the tips of brushing your teeth, let’s talk about them.
1.Choosing the Right Brush
The tool works, the hand boasts. If we want to do a job properly, we must first choose the right equipment, our brush. The more effectively we can use our toothbrush, the more successful we will be. For this, it would be right to choose a brush that is soft enough to remove plaque from the teeth and small enough to reach the most difficult places. Personally, this can vary, but our recommendation would be a soft toothbrush with a small head.
2. Using the Appropriate Technique
There are many tooth brushing techniques and depending on the condition and relationship of the teeth, the brushing technique that will be useful and that you can benefit from may vary. The best technique for this is the technique that the dentist will recommend to you after your dental examination. Our average recommendation will be the following: Brush your teeth in a sweeping style from pink to white, from diet to tooth, that is, from pink to white, without making too circular movements without rubbing.
3.Programming the Time and Frequency of Brushing Correctly
The best time to brush your teeth is just before going to sleep. Because during this period of 6-10 hours on average, mouth and tongue movements are reduced to almost zero. This minimizes the cleansing effect of saliva. The inside of the mouth is now a feast place for bacteria. Apart from that, one of the mistakes made is brushing your teeth as soon as you wake up. This is no different from taking a shower before playing sports. As for frequency, at least twice a day.
4. Managing Time correctly
The recommended time is 2 minutes. Only 2 minutes. Those 2 minutes are so long that the brush is in the mouth in front of the mirror. Our advice is to set a timer for 2 minutes in front of the mirror and stick to it.
5. Observe Storage Conditions
It will be useful to change your brush every 3-4 months. During this time, both the bristles will wear out and bacteria accumulation will increase. It will also be useful to dry your brush with a clean napkin and store it in an open area away from the toilet.
